More Filipino cast in ‘Forgotten Island’: Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Amielynn Abellera – report

A group of lawyers led by Israelito Torreon hold their petition seeking to stop the House impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday, March 27.

Metro Manila, Philippines – More artists of Filipino descent will join Dreamworks’ upcoming animated film “Forgotten Island,” according to a report by entertainment news magazine Variety.

Filipino actress Dolly de Leon is part of the animated feature. Her accolades include a Los Angeles Film Critics Association win, as well as nominations in the Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards for her performance in the “Triangle of Sadness.”

“Over the moon with excitement and Pinoy pride to share Forgotten Island with the world! Nakakaproud maging Pinoy [Proud to be Filipino],” De Leon said on Instagram.

She thanked the animation studio, and the film’s writers and directors Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado for “for putting our stories out there.”
