
Metro Manila, Philippines – The Philippine men’s curling team bagged the gold medal after beating South Korea in the finals, 5-3, on Friday at the 9th Winter Asian Games in Harbin, China.
It was a tight contest as both countries were tied at 1-apiece after the 3rd end.
The Philippines, composed of Marc and Enrico Pfister, Christian Haller, Alan Frei, and Benjo Delarmente, got the upper hand in the 4th end which was the pivotal stretch for the Filipino curlers who held onto the lead en route to the victory.
Curling is a team sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice towards a target area.
