
Metro Manila, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon “strongly” urged Filipinos in the Middle Eastern country to evacuate amid rising tensions in the region.
\”The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon strongly urges all Filipino citizens to leave Lebanon immediately while the airport remains operational,\” the embassy said in an advisory on Friday night, Aug. 16.
\”We advise all Filipino nationals to prioritize their safety and depart the country as soon as possible,\” it also said.
For those unable to depart Lebanon, the country’s consulate in Beirut \”strongly recommended\” that they evacuate to safer areas outside of Beirut, South Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley.
