Sandara Park leaves YG Entertainment

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 14) — After 17 years, Korean superstar Sandara Park is parting ways with YG Entertainment, the company that created the phenomenal girl group 2ne1.

This was confirmed by the agency according to a statement reported by websites Soompi and Koreaboo.

“This is an announcement that YG Entertainment and Sandara Park’s exclusive contract has expired,” it said. “We express sincere gratitude to Sandara Park, who has been together with YG with special trust and affection.”

YG Entertainment is also home to other big names in KPop like BIGBANG and BLACKPINK.

Known to Filipinos as “Pambansang Krung Krung” and Dara as her stage name, the South Korean singer joined YG in 2004 before officially debuting as member of the well-loved girl group. Since then, Park has been actively promoting in different fields like acting and fashion, even after the group disbanded in 2016.

Park also trended on social media as fans dubbed, Blackjacks, express their gratitude and support for her.
